For Fall/Winter 2016, New Balance is excited to release the New Balance 009, a new luxe, sport style model that takes inspiration from classic silhouettes in the New Balance 900 series. The New Balance 009 will be available beginning July 1 at www.newbalance.com for a suggested retail price of $109.95.
With the new Lifestyle model, designers looked at the urban landscape and needs of the 24/7 consumer to develop a style rooted in New Balance heritage but fused with innovative technology with a modernized silhouette for every day, all day wear. The style borrows classic upper details from heritage New Balance 997, 998 and 999 silhouettes and pairs it with proprietary New Balance performance technology and modern material executions for a style sure to become a modern classic.
New Balance utilized pressure mapping technology to create a dual density midsole for an ultra-comfortable underfoot feel with stability where you need it. Borrowing gold-standard details from performance models, the 009 features a neoprene foam package on the collar that is molded and contoured based on ankle anatomy for additional comfort and custom fit. The style also features a collapsible heel for easy entry. The new model is offered in three colorways in peppered suede with leather on the ‘N’ logo and foxing, as well as a reground gum rubber outsole.
The New Balance 009 is an example of the next evolution of New Balance Lifestyle which offers consumers silhouettes for their busy lifestyle.
To celebrate the new model, New Balance worked with 2016 World Indoor 60-meter Champion and 100-meter IAAF World Championship bronze medalist sprinter, Trayvon Bromell, a New Balance athlete, who can be seen in NB Lifestyle’s global marketing campaign. Bromell, a junior at Baylor University, is the world junior 100m record holder and the youngest U.S. athlete ever to medal in the 100m at the World Championships. Bromell is an example of the exciting future of U.S. and global sprinting and New Balance aimed to capture his passion for sports, speed and sneakers on and off the track in the new campaign.
