“New Balance cooperates with Red Wing Heritage and Designs Noble Classics”
New Balance together with Red Wing Heritage is bringing a stylish version of the Made in USA 997 to the streets this fall.
The lifestyle shoe brand Red Wing Heritage, has teamed up with the long-established sports brand New Balance to create a premium and durable version of the legendary classic Made in USA 997, which will be launched this fall. Both brands share a rich tradition and trust in rich craftsmanship. These similarities led to a close collaboration which resulted in a limited premium product.
“While both brands embody different lifestyles, they pursue the same mission – to offer consumers premium products,” says Steve Spencer, Managing Director of Red Wing Heritage. “We are very excited to finally unite our two worlds in one high quality shoe.”
New Balance introduced the Made in USA 997 for the first time in 1990. The 997 surpassed all existing designs and was technically more advanced than previous 99x models. Today the Made in USA 997 stands for an iconic classic.
“We saw the opportunity to bring together the best of both brands in a truly desirable shoe. By merging the exceptional aesthetics of Red Wing with the classic design of the New Balance Made in USA 997, the heritage of both brands and the unique appreciation of craftsmanship are perfectly brought together,” says Steve Gardener, General Manager of New Balance Lifestyle. “As big fans of Red Wing, this was an exciting opportunity to create something unique that will last in the age of fast trends and fast fashion. The 997 is a product that we know consumers will appreciate.”
The New Balancex Red Wing Heritage collaboration style underscores the legendary Made in USA 997 silhouette with Red Wing’s Hawthorne Muleskinner leather. Made from Roughout leather and a lighter, smoother leather, the sneaker features a co-branded insole and Red Wing’s distinctive triple stitched heel.
The limited edition of the Made in USA 997 will be available from 21 September at selected dealers and online at NewBalance.de for 300 €.
